WHAT IS EXTENDED VALIDATION SSL CERTIFICATE?

Extended Validation Certificate (EV) is called the public key certificate which is issued to the businesses or organizations as per the specifically set identity verification criteria. Prior to the issuance of the EV Certificate by the Certificate Authority (CA), the verification procedure of the requesting entity is done extensively. The certificates, issued by the Certificate Authority lie under the EV guidelines, are similar to other security certificates and are assigned with the CA-specific policy identifier to be recognized by the EV-aware software.

Extended Validation SSL Certificate provides the highest level of security to a website. Once installed, the certificate turns the URL (address bar) green that shows the legitimacy of the website and highlights the unique field showing the website owner’s name and the name of the EV SSL Certificate provider. The website gets extra protected not only for the visitors or customers but also for the website owner.

The e-commerce websites need a full level of security to show the online customers that they are at a safe place and their personal details and business transactions are completely safe. To do this, the websites need to be installed the Extended Validation SSL Certificate (EV SSL Certificate). Extended Validation SSL Certificate activates the three recognizable security signs as well, which are highly looked up by the visitors. They include the closed padlock, the https and an SSL site seal (issued by the authenticated organizations). These indicators (green address bar and these three signs) provide the online customer or visitor the top level of security and legitimacy about the website. This shows the site is fully protected and everything fed on it or transactions made are safe.

These certificates also activate the three recognizable security signs which are well-expected by today’s user, i.e., the closed padlock, the https and an SSL site seal (issued by the authenticated authorities). These four indicators (green bar and three security signs) give the visitors the true sign of website’s legitimacy and security letting them know that the site is fully protected from phishing or fraudulent activities and is entirely safe for any business transaction.
